I've found Life to be quite awesome. I was a nerd before it had any cachet at all--I had my nose in an encyclopedia from the time I could read.
You can imagine my excitement with Mobile Telephones today, a computer at my fingertips! My favorite past-time as an early teen was setting a budget and design a plan for home and office enterprises. Accounting principle before I understood them.
Today, as a grown adult, I'm still incredibly nerdy. And it's awesome. I love to read, design & drafts for what I want to build. I love creating things that are unique and intrigues me.
I designed a one of a kind camper for my Goldwing Trike.
If I can build it... that is what I would rather be doing than to just purchase things others think you need at a ransom price.
Building two house and remolding a couple more has kept me busy over the years.
Built these from the ground up...
Lived In & remolded these two...
Then I turned this one into Black Beauty...
My Stretch Edition...
My economy Toy Hauler...
The nerds I know have interesting, rich, and varied relationship lives.
We're not bound by how you "should" have relationships. We don't see relationships as mass-produced commodities; we build relationships the way we and our partners want.
I married a man much older than myself and we had a unique & fantastic life including raising two beautiful daughters.
I am so thankful for those experiences.
Nerds have rich and varied interests.
If I happen to read about an exhibit in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas or wherever, I'll say let's go! That's how adventures happen and memories are made.
I can be watching a TV and realize I do not know anything about what I just saw so I looked it up on my handy computer phone.
I find that I now know things I hadn't known before. Learning isn't something you only do in a classroom when you would rather be doing something else; learning is a lifelong love affair.
As I stated before Nerds live life on their own terms.
We don't feel the chains of conformity. We don't let other people choose our paths for us--we choose our own.
If that means working in a career I had never done before that is what I will do...
In fact I worked as an "Industrial Security Director" after the death of my husband & until I could retire with a better income...
Nerds have interesting pastimes.
I have ridden & owned minibikes, motorcycle, sidecar rigs, trikes & a convertible and other unique cars.
I have built barns, garages, and houses with skills learned as carpentry, painter, electrical and plumbing too.
I have poured & finished concrete plus laid my share of bricks.
Also, I have set up a photographic darkroom in my house, refinished furniture, became my own stock market investor and since college completed my own Tax Returns.
I drove as my first car 1961 Hilman Husky.
A SUV before it was popular!
If you want an awesome life, be a nerd. There's nothing like it!
Plus Today Is This Nerd's Birthday!!! 🎂🎉🎈
