7/4/2026 Our 4th Of July

Some of the following tidbits are for your entertainment... It might make for an iconic painting, but that famous image of all the Founding Fathers and Continental Congress huddled together, presenting the first draft of the Declaration of Independence for a July 4, 1776 signing isn't quite how things really went down. No such scene, with all the delegates present, ever occurred at Philadelphia. In fact nothing was actually signed on the fourth but just the day that the was d

7/3/2026 Freedom Weekend!

I am a proud American. I took this weekend to celebrate the freedom of this great nation. Also to celebrate... America’s uniqueness. As an American we enjoy freedoms that do not exist in other countries, such as freedom of speech, religion, the press, and the right to vote, among many others. I pray that we can keep this nation strong. As a funny lady once said: "You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4th, not with guns, tanks, and soldiers who

7/2/2026 Adventuûre

I want to leave for an adventure sometime in the future. Few things in life make me more excited than a good trip. Days spent on the open road in places I've never been before and the attitude of adventure. I try to make my trips to be ones I'll remember for the rest of my life. I have realized recently that it is in good part because of the planning that I put into it. Disclaimer: Please excuse my, uh, let’s call it “enthusiasm.” While I was never in the Boy Scouts obviousl

7/1/2026 Breakfast What?

A few years ago I was impulse buying and ran across a Marketside Breakfast Pizza at Walmart. Now I love Pizza but quite frankly I had reservations about a breakfast pizza with... "Eggs"? I had never bought a Savory Breakfast Pizza before. I'm not really a huge hard boiled egg person, so I assumed I wouldn't like it. On a whim, I purchased the pizza and tried it. To my surprise, it was really good. Honestly, I didn't even notice the eggs. The gravy and sausage really stood out

6/30/2026 We Get It!

We’ve all been there. As a woman, living with a partner in life can be hard; figuring out which present to buy, and listening to their nagging about why we don't get them. However, for the motorcyclist the perfect partner is: "A biker chick." Because They do get YOU. And here’s 8 reasons why: 1. We Get Why You Like to Ride First off yes... we at least get why you like to ride, and that is half the battle. A long stressful week with that crappy weather requires a day or two o

6/29/2026 Happy Birthday Brother...

Dear Brother of mine: We may not see each other very often for reasons only a few may know. There is a bond of family and childhood memories that we hold dear. We both know that deep in our hearts, we have only love for each other and nothing else. I wish every year that life had not dealt this reality for all us involved. I can only hope you have as Happy Birthday as possible my Brother of mine. May your day be kind to you and blessed. Your Sister Anna.

6/28/2026 *Yes*

I found this on a site that often pops up on my internet feed. I did not write this - but WOW does it speak to my heart!!! Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening. Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday. ... and the month is already over. ... and the year is almost over. ... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed. ... and we realize that we lost our parents, siblings and friends. We we realize it's too late to go back... So...

6/27/2026 My Inspiration...

My dad was my inspiration for my life. He had a love of all things with engines... cars, motorcycles, planes, & machines of all kinds. He also had a thirst for adventures and love of travel. I inherited those traits as well from him. When I was a wee tot he bought me a little peddle car which I promptly informed him it had to be painted just like his car; to which he did. I would go outside as a preteen and shine on my bike imitating him in his love for his things. His cars c

6/25/2026 Taco Tuesday...

I ran across some unknown info (to me anyway)... Who would have thought that Taco Tuesday would be trademarked by a disputed few restaurants. When the owners of the Old Fashioned Tavern and Restaurant received a cease and desist letter demanding they stop holding Taco Tuesdays, they thought it was a joke. For almost a decade, the restaurant had sold $2 tacos on Tuesday night. Other restaurants and bars in the area had similar promotions, and in cities like San Francisco and L

6/26/2026 A Great Lady's Birthday...

Today is a special day... a day I always celebrate. My Mom will always have a place deep in my heart. Our time together may have been cut short but I know that I love and miss her. I am hoping for her to have a splendid birthday 🎂🎉 celebration in heaven. ❤ 0A Great Mother Your Diana & Your Great Grandchildren's... Nana Love You Mama!

6/24/2026 Wisdom...

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed. Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot, and ground coffee bea

6/23/2026 Bathroom Toilet...

In the house a few years ago there was not such a light-hearted debate. For the record there could be a problem. You see my late husband mostly (99.9%) puts the seat/lid down. In fact, he closed the lid probably 90% more often than I did. So yes we were a happy little couple. But here’s how things go: Men stands to pee. Women sit down. Males raises the seat to pee (doesn’t have to, assuming good aim, but…c’mon). I need it down to pee (yeah, I could pee without a seat, but…c’

6/22/2026 Age Has It's Advantages

I am stoked that now I'm over 65, I am old enough to have a Senior America The Beautiful National pass that give benefits of free entry into National Parks and 50% off on camping and other services. I have deducted that Senior living can be whatever we want... From a quiet chance to reflect or give back to your community, to a challenging adventure full of globetrotting. Most older adults regardless of health or other retirement goals, say they want to travel in retirement. R

6/21/2026 Happy Father's Day!

“That man is a success – who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it; who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it.; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.” Father, You are... “Sadly missed along life’s way, quietly remembered every day… No longer in o

6/20/2026 Chores...

I need to get back to working on necessary tasks that need to be done. Problem is I couldn’t work today because of an eye problem. I just can’t see myself working today. 🤣 No I really like work. It fascinates me. I sit and look at it for hours. 😜 You know I’m great at multitasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at once. 😅 The story of my life is in fact...If it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would get done. Good news is I get plenty of exerc

6/19/2026 Summer Plans...

This is going to be the most enjoyed summer ever. I am going to sleep until 7am. Then I am going to have Pizza for breakfast if I want. After breakfast, I will go to the cycle shop and ogle motorcycles and accessories all morning. If we get bored, I will drive down to the nearest place to partake in the best pork tenderloin sandwich and spurge on my favorite coconut pie. Later in the summer, I may take a road trip. I will go across country to camp and explore the West. I def

6/18/2026 Tips...

Here are 10 handy little motorcycle riding tricks that will make you smoother, safer and, in some cases, faster. They'll work on any bike, any time, whether you're cruising, tearing up a mountain road or heading out around the world. 1. In Traffic, Drag Your Back Brake For Better Balance Making your way through traffic at low speed is one of the hardest things we have to do as riders. Managing a heavy, lug of a motorcycle while watching out for drivers and trying to figure ou

6/17/2026 Homemade Air Conditioer

In summer heat you're melting and you need to cool down. Maybe your air conditioner is on the blink, or you don't have any, and there's no way to deal with the ridiculous heat. However, I have found a solution if ya in a bind and it does work. A 5 gallon bucket, pipe and caulk and you have relief. In some ways this is a combination of the ice chest and cool box DIY air conditioner. A compact fan is mounted face down into a bucket lid, alongside two short lengths of pipe. The

6/16/2026 Southern Belle Railroad Dining Car

Several years ago on a bright Sunday the morning beacon me to a run across Arkansas and into Oklahoma. The mission was to scope out The Southern Belle Dining Railroad Car. How did a rail car that once transported WWII troops come to rest next to Highway 59 in Heavener, Oklahoma, anyway? It was bought by a retired rail man and used as a lake cabin and then sold. It was eventually restored to its 1940s elegance, & now a mighty fine restaurant that is true to it's southern root

6/15/2026 Memories & Humor

As I was sitting still today I got to reminiscing about the farm I once owned and other humor that had occurred becoming a country girl. Big Load... A few years after Carl and I married & two kids birthed, we moved to Carl's family's farm in rural Missouri. We had found out Cole County AG Extension was selling all sorts of berry and fruit trees at great rates. We needed quite a few things because the property we had was a cleared cow pasture and, besides a few pin oak trees a
