1/2/2026 An Important Reminder...

Today into another year I am reminded again: Mark 11:23 is a powerful verse about faith and confession that believers claim and use around the world. But the principle in this verse works in both a positive and negative sense — or to put it another way, this principle works both in the realm of God and in the realm of the devil. The word “doubt” is from the Greek word diakrinomai,  which means to hesitate, to waver, to doubt,  or to differ . In context, Jesus said that when a

1/3/2026 Another Year To Remember!

Can't believe I now will be writing 2026. It seems like only a few weeks ago we were beginning to write 2025! Remember: "Nights will be dark but days will be light, wishing for your life to be bright – May You Have A Wonderful Year Ahead!" Hugs To Everyone! 🤗 Nana

1/1/2026 Happy New Year To Everyone!

I used to love to drive by the local gym after January 1st and look at the overflowing parking lot! Give it a couple of weeks and then drive by the gym again- big difference in the amount of cars in the parking lot! I don’t make resolutions, because I would break them. I do set goals... goals that I like to keep to myself. There is one thing that I plan to make a conscious effort to do in the upcoming year. I read a quote one year by Heath Ledger... "Everyone you meet always

12/31/2025 New Years Eve...

"This is a time for reflection as well as celebration. As you look back on the past year and all that has taken place in your life, Remember each experience for the good that has come of it and for the knowledge you have gained. Remember the efforts you have made and the goals you have reached. Remember the love you have shared and the happiness you have brought. Remember the laughter, the joy, the hard work, and the tears. And as you reflect on the past year, also be thinkin

12/30/2025 It's National Bacon Day!

Though this holiday was created in 1997 as a way to take a break from celebrating the traditional winter holidays, the consumption of pork dates back thousands of years to 4900 B.C. where the Chinese domesticated pigs and preserved pork bellies with salt. This practice is believed to have made its way to the Romans and Greeks through conquests in the Middle East and by 1500 B.C. had largely impacted both production and preservation of pork in the Roman Empire. Ancient Roman’s

12/29/2025 Yesterday's Feast...

Yesterday was Sunday and I was sick of fast-food joints so after church I stopped at a local place in Bristol, FL that had wonderful reviews. Just down home cooking kind of a place. I am so glad I found this jewel just over the bridge into Eastern Time Zone. They serve breakfast too during the week. Adventures Everywhere! Nana

12/28/2025 I Found A Church

I have been looking for a Baptist Church to attend while here in Florida. Last week's First Christian Church was ok but not quite a fit for me. Today I found Old Country Magnolia Baptist Church just right to up the road about 5 mile from me. It seems to be a perfect fit for me. Nana

12/27/2025 Woke To A Ring A Ding...

At 6:30 am I was awaken by the local Quest Lab's nurse informing me that my INR was dangerously High which means I was at critical for bleeding to death if I was hurt or etc. She informed me to not take my meds for the two day weekend & immediately call my Doctor to see if he wanted me to go to hospital for vitamin k transfusion. I was determined to be very careful & add salads and broccoli to my diet in the meantime until I could contact my healthcare team. Still a kicking a

12/26/2025 Running Errands...

Christmas came & went. Present were exchanged & liquid celebration commenced. More on that later!🤯 Elizabeth and I were camera shy! Great day... Nana

12/25/2025 Did You Know This Story...

NORAD's radars detected Saint Nick's sleigh departing the North Pole, shortly after he reviewed his flight plan with his nine reindeer. This particular agency's annual mission began with a "typo" 70 years ago. On Christmas Eve in 1955, a local Sears store in Colorado Springs ran a dial Santa ad. Except the number was a misprint; instead of listing the number for Sears' Santa hotline, it posted the number for the Continental Air Defense Command center. It led to Colonel Harry

12/24/2025 A Little Info...

I am near the town of Blountstown, Florida. It is located in the heart of Florida’s Panhandle, Blountstown serves as the county seat of Calhoun County. Just a few minutes south of Interstate 10, it has easy access to larger cities like Tallahassee, about an hour east, and Panama City, about one hour south. Old Calhoun County Courthouse is a beautiful point in town. The Apalachicola River, a vital waterway known for its biodiversity and good fishing, borders the city to the e

12/23/2025 My Accomadations!

This sciatica is a pain literally a pain alright! I found it was too painful to climb the stairs so I have decided to just roll with the situation and enjoy what is in my path. Here is my accomodations for the near future. I have a very comfortable chair and ottoman & blankets, heated vest & heater to boot. Warm weather will be back & everything will work out. I do have the truck too to sleep in so... All is good. Nana

12/22/2025 The Lord Guided Me!

I have been stopping at the local McDonald's for breakfast. A pleasant lady started a conversation with me for the last 2 days. As I say there we shared a table and conversed about our lives. This last Sunday I even attended her Church for a Christmas Sermon about Moments. I guess it was God's Instructions that I decided not to ignore. A Wonderful Day! Nana

12/20/2025 Trip Was Completed...

I arrived at my North Florida destination about 3:30 pm. It was just about time to get some of the Christmas packages out and find a nice spot. We rolled on into the local McDonald's for an early supper & laughter. Then we sat outside on the cool evening visiting. I was not thrilled for my body go up their steep stairs into the house so I opted for a night in my truck. It was not as comfortable as I had anticipated. The next day would be decisions to make. Nana

12/21/2025 I May Have Found It!

Callaway of Bristol, Florida, Torreya State Park is situated in the middle of what he claimed to be the location of the Garden of Eden as described in the creation story of the Judeo-Christian tradition. I just had to go see it. Nana

12/19/2025 Florida Invader...

Today I have arrived in the Sunshine State but it was a misty rain day for me yesterday! Last night was spent just a few miles north of Montgomery, Alabama! I have been exploring some beautiful other paths to my daughter's & SIL home. The Interstate might be a little quicker but I have tried to miss all the traffic of Birmingham & Montgomery Alabama. I'm packed like Santa Claus in my 1995 F150. 😅 Ho! Ho! Ho! I'm on my way... In My Ford! Nana

12/18/2025 On The Road Again...

Yesterday was a good start to Florida. I hit the pavement about 9:30 AM and made fairly good time to the edge of Tennessee. A great hotel rest for the night at my favorite budget Quality Inn. A great room & breakfast too! I make it into Alabama today. See ya later! Nana

12/17/2025 On The Road Again!

Today I will start my Winter Adventures to Florida. I always look forward to exploring the Florida life for my winter months now that I'm a senior. As fate would have it I'm enjoying it without the Love Of My Life. Some days it feels like I can't seem to walk this walk without him. However I have no choice but to convince myself to keep moving through the days anyway. I plan to pull into a nice camping spot at my daughter's yard in Rural Florida. It will definitely be an adve

12/16/2025 How About Those Oceans...

One of my most favorite places is the beach anywhere. I love the water and the sand. The sun seems the always be shining. The air smells like salt and sand. The sky looks so pretty over the ocean especially during sunrise and sunsets. I have had the opportunity to fall in love with the Atlantic Ocean beaches in the summers long ago. It can be sometime hard to get to a beach because of all the traffic and city life around. In the summer, people flock to the beach for vacation

12/15/2025 Florida Here I Come...

Almost 21 million people call Florida home. I've grown to love the Sunshine State these past years of Snow Birding. I’ve called Missouri home for 68 years. I love learning new things about where I visit. I was sitting in warm dry house last night surviving the cold temperatures 🥶 and I started thinking about weird facts, urban legends and other strange stuff about every State. I started doing research and found some cool and weird facts about Florida that I wanted to share.
