12/15/2020 It Happened This Very Day...

On this day in 1791 U.S. Bill of Rights becomes law...

The first 10 amendments to the Constitution of the United States are known as the Bill of Rights. They became law after Virginia ratified the amendments.

The Bill Of Rights confirmed the fundamental rights of our citizens. The First Amendment guarantees freedom of religion, speech, and the press, and the rights of peaceful assembly and petition. Other amendments guarantee the rights of the people to form a “well-regulated militia,” to keep and bear arms, the rights to private property, fair treatment for accused criminals, protection from unreasonable search and seizure, freedom from self-incrimination, a speedy and impartial jury trial, and representation by counsel.

Today more than ever these Rights need to be guarded.

Without the Bill of Rights, the entire Constitution would fall apart. Since the Constitution is the framework of our government, then we as a nation would eventually stray from the original image the founding fathers had for us. The Bill of Rights protects the rights of all the citizens of the United States.

Live Vigilant!
