Yesterday as I was sitting feeling blue for many reasons and none really important at all, then a resounding thought entered my head.
I realized I was wasting a day that could be good if only I would recognize my blessings.
To all of my mature friends...
Most of us are going through the next phase of our lives. We're at that age where we see wrinkles, gray hair, and extra pounds.
We have ran households, paid the bills, and dealt with sickness, death of those we love, anxiety, sadness, childhood traumas, held down jobs that drained us and everything else life has assigned us.
We are survivors... we are warriors in the quiet... we are like a classic car or a fine wine.
Even if our bodies may not be what they once were, they carry our souls, our courage, and our strength.
We should all enter this chapter of our lives with humility, grace, and pride over everything we have been through, and we should never feel bad about getting older. It's a privilege that is denied to so many.
The scripture insists old age is one of God's gifts. Solomon wrote in another place, “The glory of the young is their strength; the gray hair of experience is the splendor of the old.”
Every day is a gift from God, and the accumulation of days, months and years is the cumulative gift of God.
Keep smiling... Keep Going... We are Blessed!
Nana
