One of my favorite stories is that of my late husband's parents.
In 1916 these two love birds Sarah Farmer & U. C. Hogg decided to get hitched.
They borrowed a buggy & rigging from his father, two horses from a neighbor and off they went with a few friends and family to the local Justice of the Peace. After the Happy Nuptials they returned home with a couple cousins hooping, hollering & shooting off their pistols.
The horses were spooked and took off in a frantic run. Before they could be stopped the harnesses broke and the buggy tipped over.
They started their marriage in debt to pay for the damaged items.
Then when they received the local paper with the announcement of their nuptial. The headline read: Farmer marries Hogg. 🙄
They were married until 1984 when U.C. Hogg passed away with Sarah following within four months.
Happy Valentine's Day to all those in love!
