4/29/2019. Baseball & Love

Updated: Apr 30, 2019

Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good, too."  - Yogi Berra

Yesterday was as perfect a day as they come for me anyway. I was able to escort my granddaughter to a local baseball game and hear her school choir perform several songs before and during the game.

Weather was gorgeous and crowd was hyped for the event. Kids and parents overflowed the stadium. They made sure to sugar up the kids from the initial gate entry. Free ice cream was handed out upon arrival. Yippy! Also, an added bonus of a free hat which made sure parents and grandparents alike had their hands full from the gitgo! Then the aroma of funnel cakes and popcorn attacked our senses and about an hour into the game we could not fight it any longer. As a dotting Grandmother I hiked up the mile long incline to brave the hungry crowds. We decided that we could purchase "maybe" the Bottomless Popcorn Bucket and a Sprite without getting a bank loan. We blissfully ate until our bellies were about to pop.

The angels sang once again before the game ended. However, the nerve-wrecking chaos of getting everybody back into their positions was a sight to behold. Along with ice cream & hats they should have handed out free sedatives for the parents and grandparents.

The Ball Team Franchise did have a heart after all... "They allowed the little bundles of energy to run around the bases which proved to be a big help for parents & grandparent for the ride home."

All in all, it was a fantastic day for memories!
