Today's ride was back to the Tallahassee area to see Old St Augustine Road.
However, the Harley Davidson dealer was on the way so... Yes We Stopped!
(That was a big trunk & super bike - 2006 Screaming Eagle with 25k miles!)
We could not fully enjoy the time there with our stomachs screaming too... feed me!
So, lunch was the next order of business for these travelers. We found a nice table at Dave's Pizza Garage. They had the best Calazone I've had ever! 😋
Then it was onward to Old St. Augustine Road. It was located southeast of downtown Tallahassee, the road dates back to the 1600's when it linked Spanish missions from there to St. Augustine. There is now no trace of the 17th century Franciscan mission or the Indian council house along the road, but its scenic beauty persists to this day. Old St. Augustine Road was the first highway built in Florida. It was completed in the 1820's and followed an old Indian footpath which had become the "Spanish Trail" connecting Pensacola to St. Augustine, prior to American settlement.
A beautiful ride on a beautiful day... Doesn't get any better than this! 🤗
