There are benefits of cooking & baking with grandchildren. The activity teaches children a skill for life. I cooked with my mother and now I am cooking with my granddaughter. It cements the bonds across generations. And it creates a social experience that we can share, whether during the holidays or our everyday lives.
The best thing that comes out of being together, cooking/baking, is that we can connect.
My trick has been to start with simple recipes and slowly add new challenges.
I have learned over the years... "Patience is the key (I have to admit I was a little short of that with my daughters.)
They're going to knock things over. They're may get eggshells in the batter. It's fine. It's totally OK to make mistakes."
Today the project was strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
Everybody's favorite here! 😋
