The weather was fabulous 80* so, we took advantage of another day of riding.

The bike just seemed to head to Warsaw, MO. A small town of approximately 2200 population and the county seat of Benton County. The area is enhanced by Truman Lake which brings in thousands of fishermen & tourist every year. As the bike continued to lead we ended up taking a swing over to Tightwad, MO.

It is has a population of approximately 69 & is only one square mile, lays near the original town site of Edgewood.

The town's unique name is said to stem from an episode in which a store owner cheated a customer, who was a postman, by charging him an extra 50 cents for a better watermelon. Some sources claim the transaction involved a rooster rather than a watermelon. Due to its proximity to Truman Reservoir, Tightwad saw some small growth in the mid-1980s. As of 2010, the town's business district included a bank (see below), café, tavern, and convenience store.

As of April 2019, the bank is closed and is being used for personal use. The café was bought after sitting vacant for many years and is now being used as an antique store called the "Nook and Cranny" and most recent with the addition of a Dollar General within the business district, the local convenience store was forced to close their doors, and is in the process of being turned into apartments. Sad but it is still fun to stop by to get a picture of the bank sign.

I had to laugh as I headed home when I noticed a little differently named Bait, Liquor and Convenient Mart.

150 miles later we called it a day and became couch potatos while dining on homemade Sausage, Onion, Green Pepper, Black Olives Pizza.

Burp... It was good!
