7/18/2021 Errands & Crazy Drivers...

Yesterday was not the day we had expected. It started off good with breakfast.

Then it was running to check out the dimensions again on my newly ordered refrigerator. Leave it to men to measure twice and still get it wrong. I've always known the opening in my kitchen cabinets. However, for love or money I did not get a good reading on the display unit. Had to finally do it myself. I came up with the correct numbers. Plus the salesman neglected to see the oval unit in the middle of the top of the refrigerator. This made it absolutely not a correct fit. I had to cancel the original order and then go to another location to find the unit that had the necessary measurements I needed.

It's not the fancy unit I had picked up out before but I will be happy if this Whirlpool will last at least close to my old refrigerator's 22 years. It won't be delivered until July 25th now. 🥺

I thought appliance shopping was the pits... As we maneuvered around Springfield, Jim had a driver run him to the curb. Either they were inattentive or just gunning for motorcyclists.

I did not see the incident happen because I had already turned the corner. They drove right on pased him so he did not get a license number. He was too busy trying to get his Goldwing off his ankle & leg.

The curb kept the bike up enough to pick the bike up but he has some leg abrasions. Springfield has gotten to be a crazy place for motorcyclists.

After a cool down and nurse Sarah (my daughter) bandaged the wounds we were off again.

Jim should be only sore for a few days with the abrasions on the leg and maybe a sore ankle. He insisted he will be back to enjoying riding in no time.

He said he was ok so we were on the move to buy that $2 bolt at Harley Davidson.

A shower of rain followed us all the way back towards home. One good benefit with the Goldwing is the big fairing & windshield which made a better & dryer ride.

Rain does make for lousy road traction so we decided to stop & wait out the rain at Boone's BBQ... 😋

With a smoked burnt ends brisket meal & a coke, all the day's mishaps just melted away. Hopefully better days ahead. 😎

It’s not just Springfield….. It’s getting dangerous out there! Heal Quick Jim! God bless! Thankfully it wasn’t real bad! Road rage, lack of morals and values, the value of life of others decreasing…. I’ve steadily seen the decline of hospitality on the roads everywhere over the last decade or so…
