9/18/2021 Sitting Low...

As I was running errands and picking up groceries I ran into one of the lowest rat rod I had ever set my eyes upon. It was sitting on the ground. As I turned the corner the owner walked over, opened the door and slid down into it. He must have pushed a magic button because it rose up off the ground a few inches. Not near enough for me and my poor knees but that is another story.

Now these cars have a deliberately worn-down, unfinished appearance, typically lacking paint, showing rust, and made from cheap or cast-off parts but I have realized that they have actually grown on me. I marvel at the parts that include non-automotive items that have been repurposed, such as using a rifle as a gear shifter, wrenches as door handles, old license plates as inter skins for the doors and old saws as sun visors.

These rat rod may or may not have extraneous decorations, but will always exude a great deal of personality due to the imagination of the builder.

I am in awe every time I see one.

It made my day... Hope yours was as good!
