5/31/2026 Remember...

Today twelve years ago I lost my other half. Grief changes shape but never ends. I realize that grief doesn’t follow the same timeline for everyone. However, It doesn’t ever “go away,” My love for my husband is a journey starting at forever and ending at never. What he means to me has no ending, unless you can understand what forever and infinity really mean. I will take this day and remember his love and the family we created together. Because of him they exist. The love my

5/30/2026Blessed...

Yesterday reminded me how utterly lucky & blessed I am to live and have the home I have chosen. Many people travel long distances with $ investment in having a slice of country, yet all piled up together, with some one telling them what and when they can do something. (Gotta Git Me Some Flying Pigs) For me that is not an acceptable version of paradise. I have peace and quiet, beautiful nature surrounded acres situated within a few miles of the Pomme de Terre River & Lake. A c

5/29/2026 Flashback...

In the spring of 1970 my dad introduced me to this little Tote Goat mini bike. The fever began... In the summer of 1972 my dad bought me my first street legal motorcycle. I had found my niche and have ridden in the breeze ever since... Below is my little nephew Shawn sitting on these sweet wheels... Dad checking out my next Honda in 1987... Many bikes later... I'm still have a Honda in the garage. See you along the road... Nana

5/28/2026 Pants On Women...

On this date in 1923 the US Attorney General says it is legal for women to wear trousers anywhere. Of all the long controversial topics that are still unsettled in 2026—abortion, immigration, etc.—you wouldn’t expect that the way women and girls choose to cover their legs would be one of them. Even in 2026 there still a portion of States considering going back to traditional wear as they refer to women in dress & skirt in school's dress codes. My opinion is trousers first app

5/27/2026 Desire...

Desire is a good thing. Desire is the language of the soul. Desire is how the soul communicates to us – by guiding us toward expansion and growth. As we begin an uncertain 2026 Summer, a few tips: 1)Just open up to how your soul wants to grow and expand. Don’t doubt your desire or dreams. Follow them. 2)Release the grasp of fear and...Embrace the journey to more. 3)Embrace that power. Learn how to tap into the soul’s desires and create what you really want. Our world can be

5/26/2026 Remember Ozark Mountains Gathering

Remembering The Ozark Mountains Gathering (OMG) Motorcycle Rally hosted by Me for 11 years. There would be the final prep, packing & loading up for the departure on a highly anticipated Motorcycle Vacation... Engines would start bright and early on the last few days of May. At this time in my life I host a motorcycle gathering. Held in one of the grandest places in the USA. In fact when it comes to great motorcycle touring destinations, few can rival the beautiful scenery a

5/25/2026 Memorial Day...

Today let us praise the men and women who sacrificed their lives in the name of our country. Their selfless devotion, outstanding courage, and honor should inspire us to make their sacrifice meaningful. Nana

5/24/2026 Ugh The Jungle...

I think I've have a good start to a jungle. Maybe all I need now is a tall fence and a few lions, tigers and monkeys. 😅 I think my weeds & what grass I have in spots was at least a foot tall. I guess I needed to mow sooner but I'm waiting for the rain to stop, my back massage for riding the trike and working on other projects. The place had starting looking abandoned. So... Hopefully the growth in will slow down a little if the rain stops popping up in the forecast! 🙏 The

5/23/2026 I Worked Cheap!

When I was fourteen years old and during the summer I lived to help my brother in-law with his part-time job cleaning up a The Capital Hotel's piano lounge... "Senate Lounge" in my home town of Jefferson City, MO. He always gave me the job of vacuuming the floor. I would race in every morning to sweep up the bar and find the change customers had dropped during the night. Years later, I found out that my brother in-law would throw a few coins over the bar for me to find. It c

5/22/2026 Taum Sauk Mountain...

In the St. Francois Mountains in the Ozarks at 1,772 feet above sea level, Taum Sauk Mountain is the highest and likely the oldest peak in Missouri. This flat-ridged mountain is supposedly named after Piankeshaw chief Sauk-Ton-Qua and his tragic tale. Sauk-Ton-Qua’s daughter, Mina Sauk, fell in love with a warrior from a hostile tribe. When the chief killed his daughter’s lover by throwing him off of a nearby cliff, Mina followed him over the edge. This incurred the wrath of

5/20/2026 It Happened!

Back in 2004 I attended The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the largest motorcycle rally in the world. It is held annually in The Black Hills and in Sturgis, South Dakota for 10 days during the first week of August. It was started by local Indian dealer Pappy Hoel in 1938. Since its beginning, private area businesses throwing events such as races, concerts, and rides. Then in 2020 marked the 80th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. That year the corona virus has resulted in a variety

5/21/2026 Remembering

“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” - Steve Jobs Many things have happened to me in this lifetime of mine that has proven we need to pick ourselves up and keep trucking on towards a dream, enjoy the enrichments of others and love every breath we have. I could not fathom after the death of my husband 12 years ago that there

5/19/2026 Fun Day...

Ah, Tuesday. With weekend over now a distant memory, it's our last day to stave off the Monday blues. And the only way to pump up the week vibe is to turn up the FUN and make it a Tuesday Funday! How can you take an average Tuesday and make it one for the record books? Easy! Have a day party. While it may sound simple enough, day partying is truly an art. And day partying on a Tuesday Funday is the finest art form of all. Unlike your run-of-the-mill office happy hour or an a

5/18/2026 Who Would Thunk It!

An interesting fact or not... Manure: In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer’s invention, so large shipments of manure were common. It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles yo

5/17/2026Things Of An Idle Mind!

Things that go through my mind as I sit idle... What would life be if I was a Pencil? I would think it might be a little cramped in the dark pencil bag. Finally the human I would think would open the pencil/torturer bag. I know I would be on the verge suffocating! I of course I am what the human picks up first. I’m their favorite! They would treats me pretty well. I mean sometimes I might get squeezes too tight, but that’s because they may be stressed. They might holds

5/15/2026 What Do You Think?

Why did the chicken cross the road? The chicken-crossing-the-road joke is maybe actually super dark and messed up, guys. The chicken crossed the road because he wanted to die. Because in crossing the road he got hit by a car, and in so doing made it to... the other side. AKA the afterlife. He crossed over. Into the afterlife. Into death. OR IS IT? Other people argue that the joke is not anywhere near as morbid as all that. That it's just a dumb non-joke: The chicken crossed

5/14/2026 Thursday's Practical Tips

1. You know you can remove marks on wood furniture using a walnut. Cut it in half and rub it into the scratch. Pecans, Brazil nuts and almonds all work fine too. After you rub the nut across the furniture, rub the area with your fingers. This will help the oils from the nut soak into the surface of the wood. Buff it with a cloth, and done. 2. To shine up your wood with a quick and easy home mixture instead of furniture polish. Just grab some olive oil and lemon juice and mix

5/13/2026 It's All In A Name...

How did you'll choose your children’s names? Elizabeth was the name I knew I wanted for my first born. From the time we knew I was pregnant that name was top of my list. Actually the idea came from a time when I was a 10 year old child. It was fully formed by the time we moved from Juniper Lane where our neighbor's golden haired gorgeous child resided. I just knew I would have one day my very own beautiful daughter and that dignified and beautiful name would be for my waiting

5/12/2026 Limerick Day...

Trying my hand at writing some of my own five-line poems to celebrate National Limerick Day. Limericks are quirky, funny poems in which the first two lines rhyme with the fifth line, and the third and fourth lines rhyme with each other. Here goes... There once was a wonderful car Who thought he would go very far Until he broke down And looked for a town He knew he would not now go far. Ok, I won't quit my Day Job... Oh! wait a minute, I don't have a job. Boy I'm up the stream
