1/18/2026 As I Drove...

Weeks ago... Southward I drove with a few rain drops greeting me along the way. However, I was definitely rejoicing the warmer temperatures. Then as I started to notice the changing scenery I realized that my "truck was going to my switcharoo" to the normal trip from Missouri. I brought additional little items to make camp at my daughter's house. The Ole Blue was going to need new wiper blades and along with more snacks at the ever so plentiful Wal-Marts long the way. Iron

1/17/2026 More Trivia...

Here’s a fun little guide to recap a little of what I’ve discovered so far: A - Alligators You can't write about Florida without mentioning the state reptile... They are everywhere! B - Big-Na$$ Bugs They seemed to be everywhere too! C - Coastlines   Florida is the state that can boast the second-most coast in the U.S. after Alaska. However does Alaska even count? It's pretty and all, but most of the time it's a little cold for a day at the beach. D - Dinosaurs Just kidding.

1/16/2026 Another Day's Adventure

Another day was meandering along coastal Route 98. Destination was Apalachicola, Florida. Apalachicola was a small settlement at the mouth of the Apalachicola River when President James Monroe appointed a Port Collector in 1822. By 1828 steamboats operated between Apalachicola and Columbus, Georgia carrying manufactured goods to upriver towns and plantations and returning with cotton destined for mills in New England and Europe. In 1836, 50,000 bales of cotton were shipped fr

1/14/2026 Tidbit Facts...

Almost 21 million people call Florida home. I've grown to love the Sunshine State these past few years. I’ve called Missouri home for 68 years. I love learning new things about where I visit. I was sitting in dry during a horrific rain storm and started thinking about weird facts, urban legends and other strange stuff about every State. I started doing research and found some cool and weird facts about Florida that I wanted to share... The beaches of Palm Beach County houses

1/13/2026 I Found A Church...

Sunday I found another country church just about 6 miles from my daughter's house, Magnolia Baptist Church. It seems to have unusual bell placement I had never seen before. The Church has been there since 1873. A lot of worship & families in Christ in those 153 years! Everyone was so welcoming & accepted me as another sister in Christ. This last Sunday I was even escorted to my truck by a gentleman to make sure I got there safely. I think I'll be going back while I'm here. N

1/10/2026 Popeye The Sailor Woman...

I love me some Tropical time near the ocean. I'm enjoying my Fried Fish Filets & hush puppies... yum! Did you know that I had wanted to be a Naval Officer after college? However my family threw a fit when I pitch them my ideas. Plus I had also just met my eventual husband so as evident now... I never left for the Navy. I guess I'll watch my Popeye and be content. Few people know that Popeye’s character really existed. His real name was Frank “Rocky” Fiegel. Born in Poland in

1/9/2026 Hospital Memories...

Last November I went to my annual Dr appointment. I asked for something for my pain in my back.... 4 Ibuprofens was not really working. I am apprehensive to start the Tramadol that was prescribed. The warning are a little scary and if any thing happens then it wouldn't be the way I wanted to spend my earmarked vacation money if something goes wrong. Plus a hospital won't have the room service I was thinking about this year either. So far so good with the meds. I found the la

1/6/2026 Panama City Retreat This Week...

Yep, I brought in the New Year in Panama City Beach, Florida this year. I loaded my truck with week worth of luggage and hit the road to a hotel & beach. It's been a a week of relaxing, exploring & eats for this ole gal. It's been fun but the time is up & it's back to my daughter & SIL's place today! Florida Vacation Still In Progress... Now Back To Your Regular Program... Nana

1/5/2026 Happy Birthday...

In San Francisco on this day in 1933, construction began on the Golden Gate Bridge, a suspension bridge that once boasted the longest main span in the world and that has been celebrated for the magnificence of its setting. I have indeed witnessed this magnificent bridge on several occasions. As mentioned many times I'm a bridge admirer from childhood. You see... my father's occupation was building bridges for Missouri roads. He taught me the admiration for these huge structur

1/4/2026 Dog's Life...

I read that a riding motorcycle is as close as you can get to the feeling a dog has riding in his owner’s car with his head out the window. When I was on the open road, I have no cares or worries. My cellphone is on map and I do not care how many texts or messages I get. I could care less about anyone’s instagram or facebook post. It is my time to get lost in my thoughts and to enjoy the beautiful USA. When you travel in a car (which I do love as well), you are experiencing t

1/2/2026 An Important Reminder...

Today into another year I am reminded again: Mark 11:23 is a powerful verse about faith and confession that believers claim and use around the world. But the principle in this verse works in both a positive and negative sense — or to put it another way, this principle works both in the realm of God and in the realm of the devil. The word “doubt” is from the Greek word diakrinomai,  which means to hesitate, to waver, to doubt,  or to differ . In context, Jesus said that when a

1/3/2026 Another Year To Remember!

Can't believe I now will be writing 2026. It seems like only a few weeks ago we were beginning to write 2025! Remember: "Nights will be dark but days will be light, wishing for your life to be bright – May You Have A Wonderful Year Ahead!" Hugs To Everyone! 🤗 Nana

1/1/2026 Happy New Year To Everyone!

I used to love to drive by the local gym after January 1st and look at the overflowing parking lot! Give it a couple of weeks and then drive by the gym again- big difference in the amount of cars in the parking lot! I don’t make resolutions, because I would break them. I do set goals... goals that I like to keep to myself. There is one thing that I plan to make a conscious effort to do in the upcoming year. I read a quote one year by Heath Ledger... "Everyone you meet always
