As now an old lady trying to live my best life I have come to an issue with my own child.
I have tried to understand just how our family got to a point where Love & Devotion to them got forgotten & memories are distorted.
A talk with an expert in the field of Children Psychology has explained that children's memories are often inaccurate and reconstructive, easily distorted by emotions, suggestions, or later information, leading to "false memories" where they recall events that didn't happen or misremember details, a vulnerability especially pronounced in young children who struggle to distinguish between imagined and real experiences or source their own memories.
Factors like leading interview questions, parental storytelling, stress, and inherent cognitive biases (e.g., misremembering common features of things like a rich man) significantly alter recall, even creating vivid memories of repeated events that never occurred, highlighting how malleable early memories are.
It's a very painful state to be in as an Adult for the parent & prior child.
