10/31/2025 Today Is Halloween!

Today is Halloween! Did you know that Halloween's origins can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, which was held on November 1 in contemporary calendars. It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits. With the Celts celebrating a Nov. 1 new year, it made sense to celebrate Oct. 31. Pope Gregory III designated Nov. 1 as a time to honor saints, hence

10/30/2025 Last Days of 2025 Is Fastly Approaching...

Sitting here watching the fireplace and trying to warm up on these fall chilling days. I am amazed that 2025 days are winding down so fast. I can barely believe that November & December will arrive so soon– just a few short months more and this 2025 crazy year will be gone. I’ve been allowing myself to at least think about the coming year, what I would like to do and what I would like to accomplish, along with what isn’t going to happen (more travel or not) and how I'm going

10/29/2025 A Trip Through Time...

Going to the flea market is one of the only existing way to “travel time”, and is much cheaper and fun than going to the museum. Different times and era are blended together in a place like a flea market; 1960's comics pilled-up on a early 20th century chair, clothes and accessories from the last 60 years all mixed up in an old suitcase, rusty helmets and rifles testifying of past wars, toys we or even our grand-parents used to play with as kids, design furnitures from the 19

10/28/2025 Big Bird Here...

Well It's Possible! Hey, I'm talking Pelicans... 😂 People usually associate pelicans with coastal areas, not Midwestern wetlands and lakes. However, for a brief period each fall and spring, the migration of these large birds are found drawn to Missouri's waters like The Lake of the Ozarks. which is appealing to them with its wide open waters and abundant fish. The pelican depends heavily on Missouri's lakes and rivers for places to rest and eat, gathering strength along the

10/27/2025 Beauty

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” Be the one to stand out in the crowd, Be the one to go where they’d rather not. Beautiful things don’t beg for a chance to glow They throw out their lights and just shine out loud! “Go to the people and the places that set a spark in your soul

10/26/2025 Sunday's Story...

People have been coming to the wise man, complaining about the same problems every time. One day he told them a joke and everyone roared in laughter. After a couple of minutes, he told them the same joke and only a few of them smiled. When he told the same joke for the third time no one laughed anymore. The wise man smiled and said: “You can’t laugh at the same joke over and over. So why are you always crying about the same problem?” Moral of the story: Worrying won’t solve y

10/25/2025 Life Is A Box Of Surprises...

Life has a way of waking you up as you wander through blindly... Smacking us across the face when we least expect it. Those moments are when we realize life will drag us kicking & screaming to put us where we need to go. This last year I've been hobbling along with Sciatica and not much relief. No trike riding & that new Ryker has sat in the garage since I brought it home. Things are changing and I mounting up for the ride to what Life turns out to be! My doctor appointment

10/24/2025 Still Living Life...

I am so thankful for the big and small things! This week will begin with enormously bountiful plans. "Old Blue" is still full of lustrous youth and the Pretty Boy is ready to run Southern USA after a brand new $283 AGM Battery with a 4 year full replacement warranty! Now if the gas prices remain good I'll be ecstatic. I will be hard at work on getting all the strings all tied up the next couple of months. I'm hopeful that the November 6th. meeting with the Doctor will be furt

10/23/2025 Hello Thursday!

You wake up, without the prompting of an alarm, and survey the vast expanse of the weekend laid out before you. “Saturdays are the best days,” you think to yourself, deciding to stay in bed a little longer. Or perhaps it’s the joy of sleeping in yet again, indulgent and serene, that prompts you to think, “Ah yes, this is it — Sunday is the highlight of every week.” Maybe you’re a Friday-loving sociopath. It doesn’t matter. You’re wrong. All of those days are fine, but they’re

10/22/2025 Hard Is On Vacation!

Well, maybe between the hard is enjoyable times like yesterday and other days. I had a blast eating & visiting a few friends. Then I was ecstatic to find out my accessory parts for my Ryker are here! Hard is on vacation!!! Nana

10/21/2025 Words Of Wisdom...

Motivation plays a role in helping us achieve our goals, it’s the invisible forces including our environment, that truly shape our behaviour and life. When you are surrounded by better choices, it is much easier to make better decisions that will eventually change your life for the better. Ultimately, you don’t have control over how motivated you will be to work tomorrow, but you do have control over your immediate environment. If things are not working. Change it. Focus on w

10/20/2025 All In A Name...

I've been informed that if you're looking for a regal name for your newborn, Diana is fit for a queen. With Greek, Latin, and Indo-European origins, the name Diana means “divine.” Diana was a Roman goddess of many arenas, including hunting, forests, the moon, and fertility. Diana was the twin sister of Apollo and goddess of the moon. Her symbol, a crescent moon, sits behind her in the sky The Greek name is Artemis. An image of her was said to have fallen from heaven, or to ha

10/18/2025 I'm Stoked!

There’s no arguing the fact that having several little home-on-wheels is pretty convenient. After all, who wouldn’t want to be able to return to their own cozy space no matter where they happened to roam? Of course, this works best when you think of your camper as a home. Well, this year I have decided to just use my "Truck With It's Topper" as my camper. I'm working on the plans now! I still have a few things yet to finish but I'm really happy with my progress so far to fix

10/17/2025 An Impromptu Trip To Town...

It was a sudden surprise to get woke up yesterday by an annoying beep from my smoke detector near my bedroom door. Of course the house was void of all "9" volt batteries so that meant a trip into town to pickup the most important things: batteries, toilet paper and other spontaneous shopping must haves. Since I was out and about town I took the opportunity to eat lunch in my car at our local park. Dunnegan Park is packed with ducks, swans and a few peacocks. Hence the reason

10/16/2025... Heat Would Be Good Here?

I have been keeping my house heat at 56 - 65 degrees. (That’s 13 - 18 degrees Celsius.) If that’s all you knew about me, you’d have a very skewed picture of my live. You’d think I am for-real-frugal, when in fact that’s not really the case. Several years ago I had issues with the furnace in my house with 4 repair visits and $400 later plus no actual fix of my problem, I started to use my auxiliary heat sparingly. After 7 years later I moved back into my Lake Home full time a

10/15/2025 Back To The Diet...

Whew! What whirlwind few weeks... it's time to keep up the Keto diet for me. Let's be honest, a carb-y breakfast (think pancakes,...

10/14/2025 What It's Like To Ride A Motorcycle!

Motorcycle riding can be one of the greatest joys in life. It is a combination of exhilaration, fear, relaxation, and pleasure that changes you forever. It’s physical & emotional pleasure, with a layer of anxiety & adrenaline. You don't realized how much your hands and feet are working while you ride, it may take you by surprise. For the most part, there is no such thing as an “ totally automatic” motorcycle for me; almost all motorcycles are manual to some degree. Your left

10/10/2025 My Mother...

My mother is a never ending song in my heart of comfort, happiness and being. I may sometimes forget the words but I always remember the...
