1/27/2025 Good Eats...

Writer's picture: Nana Nana

After the snow had housebound us for a few days, we were itching to get out.

A few days ago we zoomed up to Hattiesburg Cycle for me to look at 2012 Yamaha 1300.

It was a beautiful beast but when I finally got in the saddle, I determined out was not like my beloved 2008 machine. The seat was not as comfortable & it was taller than mine. It was therefore off the table for me.

We decided to migrate onward to lunch at Chili's.

Ya know this chain was actually established in Texas in 1975 by Larry Lavine. Chili's first location was a converted postal station on Greenville Avenue in the Vickery Meadows area of Dallas, Texas. It opened in 1975.

Lavine's idea was to create an informal full-service dining restaurant and the staple of Chilli.

Lavine sold Chili’s to casual-dining pioneer Norman Brinker in 1983.

The company went public in 1984.

Chili’s offers a menu of American foods inspired by Tex-Mex staples, including the Big Mouth Burger, fajitas and baby-back ribs, which were popularized in a catchy advertising jingle.

The brand’s full-service bar offers the signature Presidente margarita.

I can attest to the fabulous Chicken - Bacon Quesadillas

With a stop at Walmart for more supplies, we were set for more future home good eats.

I hobbled about.. but enjoyed the day...
