Things happen in life that you can't talk about or are not ready to be put into words just yet. Today was one of those days. I grabbed onto a memory that represented nothing but love and happiness in almost every thought that I had on any given day... My Mother!
I believe I have inherited her radiant smile.
That smile would light up any heart. Her bubbly personality engulfed any room and her sweet caring soul always saw goodness in everyone she met.
A few years ago I ran across a photo frame that held the above photo of her.
It brought a such joy to me to find it. I had missed her so much since she left this world in 1982. I was a mere 24 years old. I had barely became a mother myself before I lost her beautiful presence in my life.
I felt closer to her that day seeing those women she admired & respected in her young life. The thought that she had kept these pictures behind her photograph must have indicated they were special to her.
I remember she often danced and sang around the house when her heart was the happiest... Much like her idols & wholesome movies stars of her day.
Ginger Rogers (born Virginia Katherine McMath; July 16, 1911 – April 25, 1995) was an American actress, dancer, and singer. She is known for her starring role in Kitty Foyle (1940), but is best remembered for performing in RKO's musical films (partnered with Fred Astaire) on stage, radio and television, throughout much of the 20th century.
She was also born a Missouri girl in Independence and raised in Kansas City, MO.
Her family moved to Fort Worth, Texas when she was nine years old.
Jeanette Anna MacDonald (June 18, 1903 – January 14, 1965) was an American singer and actress best remembered for her musical films of the 1930s with Maurice Chevalier (The Love Parade, Love Me Tonight, The Merry Widow and One Hour With You) and Nelson Eddy (Naughty Marietta, Rose-Marie, and Maytime). During the 1930s and 1940s she starred in 29 feature films, four nominated for Best Picture Oscars (The Love Parade, One Hour with You, Naughty Marietta and San Francisco), and recorded extensively, earning three gold records.
She later appeared in opera, concerts, radio, and television. MacDonald was one of the most influential sopranos of the 20th century, introducing opera to film-going audiences and inspiring a generation of singers.
Claire Trevor (born Claire Wemlinger; March 8, 1910 - April 8, 2000) was an American actress.
She appeared in over 60 films, winning the Academy Award For Best Supporting Actress for her role in Key Largo, and earning nominations for her roles in The High and the Mighty and Dead End. She also received top billing in StageCoach.
Today brought back to me memories and motivation while I was still processed feelings of an unpleasant situation & circumstances. I came to the decision that I would handle what I must do with the same ability that I often watched my mother utilized despite her own monumental sorrow in her young life.
In her words that I can virtually hear her saying. "Take what is good and be thankful for at least that in your life." & " Just remember that someday it can be reminiscent as a bad dream... so when daylight finally comes to you live to find The Joy In Life!"
I hope others may be able to do the same and... May you be blessed to have in your life someone as beautiful in body & soul as my Mother.
