10/5/2025 Crazy Things...

I am reminded sometimes of an event years ago in 1978 when I was newly married and lived with my darling husband in my own house trailer, previous purchased by me alone.

We were super excited about purchasing land together to place it on and it to be our first very own home sweet home.

However for some reason I had anxiety about starting new in a different city & county and added pressure of his family not being supportive of us. Infact hateful really was more of a word. Something that I had never experienced in my young sheltered life.

Also, it meant farther away from friends.

One of the ways my anxiety was coming out was with nightmares and night terrors. I’d wake up violently sitting up in a cold sweat, gasping and whatnot.

On one particular night I had woken up to the sound of our doorbell ringing.

Which at 4 in the morning is nerve wracking.

So I shook my new husband fully awake and told him I heard the doorbell and to go check it out.

He quickly jumps up, puts on his clothes and took his souvenir baseball bat.

Then he goes all the way to the front door and opens it.

I'm peeking around the corner watching it all go down.

I see him step outside and I nervously await the verdict of the situation when I hear him call out to me. “Babe?” And I respond real shaky, “Yes?”

He stands in the doorway with a real frustrated tired look in his eyes and says, “We don’t have a doorbell.”

This morning I woke with a similar situation. I could have sworn I heard a doorbell.

I debated about should I get up, throw something on my body or stay in bed since I figured anyone I know would have called me.

I kept my composure and thought about the situation logically.

Then I remembered the memories of years ago and realized I still do not have a working doorbell on this house either. 😂

End of story I laid back down laughing!

However, I did enjoy the sweet memories of my husband that my dreams conjured up for me! ❤️
