11/21/2023 It Was Raining But The Fun Continued...

Yesterday's travel day for Indianapolis, Indiana was Green Lighted To Go! 🚦

I tell you that I was blessed with nothing but liquid sunshine!

I made the best of it with a few fun stops before I got to St. Louis.

The first stop was a familiar visit to "The Uranus Fudge Factory & General Store."

There is always a lot of laughs and fun there!

Then further down the road was "Wally's," a spectacular site reminiscent of the Texas Chain, Buc-ee's ...

Wally's, is a Pontiac, Illinois-based gas station and retail shop.

This travel center is a new location and the first in Missouri at Fenton, MO.

It hosts 72 gas pumps (spanning the length of over two football fields) and five electric vehicle charging stations.

There is a huge selection of unique items like sweets, t-shirts, hats, even hunting supplies.

But as with the Prado, you eventually become overwhelmed.

You’re apt to walk right past the taxidermy diorama in the Camping Department and say, “Oh yeah, a raccoon standing next to a campfire, wearing a sombrero and strumming an ukulele,” and just keep right on going, never appreciating how grand it all is.

Wally’s is that kind of place!

However, I didn't miss the popcorn machines churning, the Sloosh dispensers spilling out all sorts of creamy goodness, icy slurry in flavors like strawberry lemonade, honey & jalapeño jerky being sold by the pound.

In fact, it’s easy to forget why you even came in and—hey, were those chocolate muffins they just took out of the oven? Yum!

The travel center is open 24 hours daily and also offers branded hats, car air fresheners, drink coasters and koozies, and other fun souvenirs to grab.

A Winnebago camper serves as a display in the store, which also sells coolers and other camping gear.

The restrooms were rather interesting too!

They thought of everything even a nice feature of lights to alert you whether the stall is occupied... No more need to peek under the stall door! 😂

"Wally's is the home of "The Great American Road Trip" and they have definitely created a unique and interactive guest experience for all us travelers. 😎

Last stop for the day was a "Hotel Respite" to watch my beloved Kansas City Chiefs loose to the Philadelphia Eagles.

It Was Still A Great Day In The Neighborhood!
