Talking with my daughter, "Elizabeth" the other night about my granddaughter,

I was reminded of her, she is my first born child & I loved watching her joyful younger days.

Elizabeth was indeed on fire at times. I had always said "If you can predict an individual's personality at the ripe age of 18 mo, she would be a total spitfire, chatterbox and inquisitive little human." She had a habit and would defiantly glare back until one of us blinks when: I ask her for something back that she sneakily stole from daddy's bedside drawer or when I happen upon her in her bedroom trying to make the crevice between the chest and crib her "hiding spot." She liked her private exploration time even if it was just her toy bin and the bedroom door was halfway closed. It's like she was a teenager wanting her space already and it reminds me so much of myself and now my granddaughter!

I loved my alone time and quiet discovery of things… in Jefferson City, prior to her or her Daddy or wherever I was in any previous chapter in my life, I always needed to carve out solo time too. Carving time in my bedroom, an old pantry closet as my office, developing black and white photos in my spare corner of my bathroom, planning my life and things to come.

I noticed early that like me, the classroom was her oyster and I loved seeing her thrive in school, music, math and other classes.

It was one of my greatest joys among many that I am sure she did not realize.

As I watch her as a mother herself I am overwhelmed with the feeling that she should always know how much her dad and I loved to watch her grow and develop into who she wanted to be and who we knew her to be.

I feel that I cannot think of anything better in life than to get to watch our children grow into the wonderful people we had hoped them to be.

Today I see that she is also that loving mother I always wanted her to be. I'm Proud Of That Girl!

Love Always And Forever,

Mom & Nana
