2/16/2023 My Story... The Cliffs Notes Version!

Our stories are living, evolving things that change with the seasons of our lives. While this means they will not remain the same forever, it also means that we can connect with what is real for us right now... Today.

I will be self reflective with my own personal Cliffs Notes story.

This is not easy in my sometimes busy, chaotic, and stressed out live. But here I go...

I was born on the west coast, the third and unexpected child. The stay after my birth was short there with the Lockheed Aeronautics Factory laying off workers. My family returned home to raise me as a Midwest girl.

It is said girls from the Midwest do tend to be slightly tomboyish. I have been told by my loving husband of almost 36 years that Midwestern girls are the sexiest most wholesome girls you'll ever meet.

If you consider our work ethic around these parts that only makes sense. But over all if there was a distinct stereotype for Midwestern girls he would say "we are the most down to earth, least self centered, hardest working, and most fun" women to be around. That was his view anyway and I'm proud to own it.

I had the typical life which included making a huge mistake with a young impulsive first marriage. Then realizing he was abusive and I definitely couldn't stay.

So I left to find my place in the world.

College, second marriage and two daughters later life got busy. My life & marriage was the standard ups & downs sometimes rollercoaster view.

My parents, husband, siblings (older brother & sister), nephews, aunt's & uncle's all have now died.

Fast forward to this retired blond that now has turned mostly grey - This Midwest girl spends her winter days in Southern USA... Yes the term I own is "Snowbird."

This particular year my task was to fulfill a long overdue promise of releasing my sister & brother in-law's ashes to the sea.

It was a good thing I had two supportive, good friends to accompany me on this emotional day. I will never be able thank them enough for all they have given me over the last few years.

Throughout my life I have been blessed to have friends that stood by me in even when family failed.

Life can be sumed up in three words...

"It goes on!"

So My Sage Life Advice: Dance. Smile. Giggle. Marvel. TRUST. HOPE. LOVE. WISH. BELIEVE. Most of all, enjoy every moment of the journey, and appreciate where you are at this moment instead of always focusing on how far you have to go.

We only have one life... So Love It, Live It & Be Happy!
