My significant other just bought a new to him Harley Davidson FLHTCU - Ultra Classic® Electra Glide® I have not ever ridden, owned/ bought a HD. I have purchased in total about 12 new & used metric bikes over the last 40 years.
However, today I will have to admit that I was rather impressed with the Harley's Davidson customer treatment. From the very first hello, can we get you something to drink, to take out any bike you like to ride & stay out as long as you would like to get a feel for the bike.
Followed up by the signing of paperwork as organized as I have ever witnessed.
Then they threw in a complete packet of goodies including 2 t-shirts, plus free BBQ lunch sandwich on them.
The grand finale & topping on the cake was... a free motorcycle delivery to your door service.
Now I realize that in the long run you may have paid for all of this but I am still impressed with the overall presentation of commitment. Never has a Metric Dealer ever matched this level in any of my buying experiences.
I have never before bought into a specific Bike or lifestyle. I've ridden with many Harley riders as well as Metrics riders. I wave at all bikes and even have enjoyed a free hot dog or two from the Harley Dealerships.
However, after today it looks like there will be many more HD events and hotdogs in my future!
