With 26 miles of white-sand Gulf Coast beaches (some of them among the most beautiful in the region) and several barrier islands, Mississippi is a surprisingly popular warm-weather getaway.
In fact, of the 24 million people who visited the state in 2022, 14.6 million opted to stay along its picture-perfect coastline.
I have been intrigued by the city's beauty and coastal charm myself.
Yesterday's excursion led me to Fishbone Alley, in downtown Gulfport, a funky little destination that backs up to a number of restaurants and bars located around the alley as well as artists from all over the world leaving their talent on the walls.
The clouds rolled in and the sky turned dark so my lunch excursion ended at Lil Rays Poboys & Seafood.
The fried green tomatoes were not up to par for me but the Poboy was good.
Still A Good Day In The Neighborhood!
