A few days ago, I was supposed to pick my youngest daughter and grandson up to go watch a concert that my oldest daughter's daughter was preforming in at the Jr. High School. When I arrived at my youngest daughter's house, they were running late and had not had their showers yet. I rallied to their aid and got my my grandson off to the shower, rushing around like a crazy lady, pulling socks out of thin air and herding shoes. Finally we are on the road racing the 16 miles hoping to arrive before it starts. As luck would have it we parked and only missed the very first introduction and first number which did not include my granddaughter so... all was ok.
Then as the hours slipped by we realized that the alarm to wake up my son in-law for his overnight shift at work had not been set in our hast to leave for the concert. Grandma began driving as a skilled racer to get my youngest daughter and grandson home. I was driving & putting the petal down over a bridges, around curves and taking the quickest way there, As we neared their house we noticed that we had made it in record time and the deadline was still a workable task. All was well again with a little hustle by my son in-law to make his shift on time. All worked out in the end in "Everydayville."
So, long story short, today we didn’t have a catastrophy missing my grandaughter's concert or my SIL was not late for work. I sort of want to celebrate that because sometimes I think it’s a good idea to celebrate all the stuff that didn’t happen to you.
Did you not sprain your ankle today?
Did you not get attacked by geese?
Did you not get arrested for public indecency?
"CELEBRATE." These are all wins, y’all. And we deserve them all.
