I worked in a bakery for my first job. A woman came up to the counter one evening while I was working and ask for a nut covered donut. She said "Not too many, because I’m allergic, and if I have too many I will die.” I shutter for a moment and searched for the right response. The thought of the decision in my hands of what was too many frighten me so I responded with a suggestion that she try a donut with sprinkles or a fruit filled instead of nuts. She thought for a moment and agreed to try the cherry pastry. I was so relieved I did not kill someone that day!

Another day I arrived to work with an order to fill for a local church. I was to bake and packaged 25 loaves of bread and 10 peach & cherry pies. I scurried through the evening baking the items and boxing the pies. When the bread cooled I sliced the bread all so careful in the most beautiful perfect slices. I bagged the loaves and packed them in the box I was given for the order. To my dismay there was only room for only half of the loaves in the box without stacking a second layer. Being young and inexperienced I packed the second layer because in my logic if it was not to be then... Management would have left me another box.

The next day I arrived to criticism of my previous night's order. Part of the bread was smashed when the church picked up the order the next day. Oops... Management was not happy but wrote it off to lesson learned.

Glad I lived through those day...
