Several years ago on a bright Sunday the morning beacon me to a run across Arkansas and into Oklahoma. The mission was to scope out The Southern Belle Dining Railroad Car.

How did a rail car that once transported WWII troops come to rest next to Highway 59 in Heavener, Oklahoma, anyway?
It was bought by a retired rail man and used as a lake cabin and then sold. It was eventually restored to its 1940s elegance, & now a mighty fine restaurant that is true to it's southern roots.

The Southern Belle serves some of the best "fixins" you have ever tasted. I can personally vouch for the Coconut Cream Pie.
Sun 🌞 & Wind finally won out and that day a Hotel Shower was the final reward for the day.
I hope you have as many smiles and blessings this week as I in my "Road Critter Phase!"
