In this heat you're melting and you need to cool down. Air conditioner is on the blink, or you don't have any, and there's no way to deal with this ridiculous heat.
However, I have found a solution if ya in a bind and it does work. A little paint, 5 gallon bucket, pipe and caulk and you have relief.
In some ways this is a combination of the ice chest and cool box DIY air conditioner.
A compact fan is mounted face down into a bucket lid, alongside two or three short lengths of pipe. The pipes can be secured with hot glue or expanding foam, or even bathroom sealant.
Air is drawn into the bucket, across 10 lbs or more of ice, and out through the pipes.
This homemade air cooler is portable.
Just lift the bucket's handle to transport it around.
Be sure to keep it within reach of a power supply, of course, or you could adapt it to run off a battery and go anywhere.
FYI my conditioner is alright but I'm dreading having to be out even in this early morning heat & tick infested grass to continue to find an appropriate yard hook up for my Starlink set-up. 😮💨
I'll be back inside as soon as possible. Hopefully before I have heatstroke!
Stay Cool Wherever You Are!
