7/15/2019 Why Going To The Baseball Game Is More Fun...

This year for me has been a year of Baseball Games. I think I have been to five games now and that is rare. It got me to thinking about why do we love the All American Sport and what do we enjoy.

My thoughts are you can go to an actual game to enjoy the overall ambience.

Baseball is a very social fan sport where you’re allowed to discuss with your friends or even complete strangers about the various strategies being used with the pitching, offensive movements (using the at bat batting concepts), base running and being able to take everything with your own vision.

My two favorite things is seeing how the runner at first base is trying to distract the pitcher (and possibly steal) where I try to determine on the specific pitch that the runner will attempt their steal. It’s always easier to steal on a curve or change up and I get major kudos on picking the exact pitch on when the steal will take place.

I also like it with a runner on base trying to score when the outfielders are either hitting the cutoffs or going directly to home plate.

I do like listening the game on any device... over the radio, internet or satellite where you have a broadcasters that can paint a perfect pictures of everything going on with the game.

I could be working in my yard, driving down the road, or sitting on my outdoor chair with a refreshment where I am painting these images in my head.

Watching it on the television is my last choice where to take in a game. You are at the mercy of the broadcast director where almost everything is missed. The game can be taken in at so many levels (I think this is true for most sports). I mean you can just watch the game, talk with a friend and wait for the big thing (strikeout, home run, great catch). Or you can score the game and track the pitch count and whos' done what.

Or you can watch the strategy of the game and see how the fielders adjust their position based on who's hitting and what the pitcher throws. The game can turn on a dime. One home run can change the course on the game in literally a few seconds at most times during most games. It's got history and stats that allow you to discuss and argue for as long as you want with fans of all ages... It is just fun!

See Ya At The Ballpark!
