Yesterday as we were moving boxes about the basement of my house, we placed several boxes on top of the flat-top kitchen stove. One box was piled with pot & pans overflowing the top.
As it was place down a large skilet must have fell off towards the back of the stove. Unknown to us... was that when the skillet fell it shoved the burner knob on.
As we worked we noticed the air was becoming smokey.
No, the smoke alarm did not activate because I removed battery to replace on the next trip to town.
Luckily we found the source of the smoke quickly. One box had just started to smoulder. So, with quick action, we removed the box to the outside and smothered the roasting box.
Good new is that fans and open door worked wonders on the smoke aroma within the house.
Yes... I never seem to have a dull day around here!
