7/27/2024 The Ride Began Years Ago...

For many of us of a certain age, an age before helmet laws, personal injury attorneys and when all we had to do was “be home before 10 p.m.,” the 10-12 year old aspirational vehicle was a minibike.

There they were, staring at us from the classified ad section of popular magazine, promising equal parts horsepower and freedom for less than $100.

Some, the lucky kids, got one. Then others had to sulk in defeat while snob Pinky Hall cruised the neighborhood like he was some sort of freaking Marlon Brando in "The Wild One" or something.

Or maybe we started hanging out with Pinky, hoping to score a ride on it ourselves.

It was like the Mercedes S-Class of the local neighborhood’s kid population.

For me it was a love of "Then Came Bronson TV Series" that started it all.

Sure it was about a guy but hey... A girl could ride & find adventure too!

Adventure I did find over the years.

The minibike was eventually replaced with a small motorcycle

then gradually larger motorcycles over the years.

Parents don't be afraid to open the door to a life long passion for your kids.

That Honda advertisement which states "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" is partly correct.

Most motorcyclists are wonderful people, ready to assist anyone in need!

Riding has saved a lot of time, money and stress that might have landed the normal people in therapy. They say you never see a motorcycle sitting in front of the Therapist's office.

Well, maybe that one time when a friend of mine accidentally parked there, but that's another story.

Anyway... See Ya'll Along The Road...
