7/28/2024 Sunday's Thoughts...

There are many blessings from our God that come with age: retirement,

grandchildren, travel, and life experiences.

Today's culture marginalizes old age, often portraying to the world as burdensome and hopeless.

Many older people can feel like they're a burden rather than a blessing to their friends and family members.

My favorite quote today would be: "I'm not an aging gracefully type... But I do believe in aging with grace" ~Danielle Steele

You know many feel regarding how to age gracefully is focusing on makeup, skin care, and various obscure beauty tips. But it’s really quite the opposite; aging gracefully has very little to do with skin care and facelifts.

Actually aging gracefully and with dignity is a belief in the goodness of what we are experiencing.

It is tender, gentle support & thought that honor our being, the amazing journey of our life so far, the countless experiences, moments of enlightenment, and beautiful memories that are the essential fabric of our being.

We should pay homage to ourselves. Honor our age, journey, and our being... Paying reverence to the life we have lived and, most importantly, believe in the beauty that lies ahead for us.

So the art of graceful dignified aging truly begins with affirmation.

Honoring ourselves, forgetting the foolish notions of aging put forth by society, and having conviction in the beauty of our journey will be the point at which we truly learn how to age with dignity, grace, and the kind of beauty that really matters.

That's my thoughts and I'm sticking to it!

God Bless All!
