Today the road will take us down to the cycle shop. Jim's Harley Davidson front tire is in need of replacement. "Wear bars are showing so we are going!"
Yes, there is, in fact, a bit more to tires than the fact that they’re round and black! It’s all too easy to lose sight of the details, but it’s our job to make good decisions, and these should certainly include when to replace our old tires, as well as what to replace them with. The old saying “Your life rides on your tires” is still appropriate. If you haven’t thought much about tires in the past few years, you might want to do yourself a favor by brushing up on the latest offerings from the major tire manufacturers. Your knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject won’t hurt your cost on bottom line, either.
Jim learned a valuable lesson in Wichita, KS last week. He should have attended to his tires before there was a problem and that tow would have been not necessary.
