7/31/2023 Journey Planning...

So Crazy Lady has nailed down a destination, and now I'm chomping at the bit, Tuesday can't come fast enough. National Motorcycle Museum here I come!

Some are content to throw a few undies in a Walmart sack and they go.

I say not so fast - any over the road trip requires a bit more forethought.

Especially if you are heading on extended tour on three wheels.

Yes, I remember "Less Is More".

Even if your week long odyssey is a full in bike tour where every inch has to count.

So... Yes I know the ice bucket will look pretty dumb after "Mile Marker 3".

I pack a little differently than some people... I try to include for the actual road travel gear days, those Arctic cool shirts that breath and as you sweat, cooling you as you go. They take up very little space and wash & dry easily in your room each night in just a few hours.

With this particular journey I will definitely throw in the cool vest with these crazy hot 🔥 temperatures!

Also, I usually pack some of my oldest clothes and then when I see that new

t-shirt that I just have to have, I have room when I toss the old one in the trash along the road.

My gear is packed in water tight bags and for extra protection a garbage bag works wonders in the rain. That lesson I learned the hard way.

I have found that a couple luggage bags works better than one large one to lug in. I pack all items needed for several day combo... Shirt, pants, socks, undergarments rolled together.

Even small deodrant & essential in each bag. So no need to rummaging to find what you need in the other day's bag.

I freeze a couple little water bottles and as I ride as they thaw. That way I always have water in those out of the way places.

Plus a $1.99 or more for water at gas stations is rediculous. I usually find a little corner for energy bars for the times in-between eat stops.

Stopping is essential on long road trips too. It is good for blood circulations. Plus it is perfect for those camera perfect moments.

Yes there has to be room for the go pro camera & it's accessories tin in the luggage.

I am a picture taking fool. They don't call me Granny Gone Wild for nothing.

I hope you follow me on my upcoming journey & my blog post in a few days.

For now it's... "Back To The Packing & Journey Planning."
