This 4th of July I snapped up a ticket to the sold out movie “Sound of Freedom” which was released in Theaters specifically on the our American Freedom Celebration Day.
It is a true story of U.S. Department of Homeland Security special agent Tim Ballard and his fight against child trafficking.
In fact this incredible true story, shines a light on even the darkest of places.
After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, he as a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her.
With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.
Tim Ballard had spent more than a decade at the Department of Homeland Security, where he worked on the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. When he realized that there were real children who couldn’t be saved without cutting an impossible amount of government red tape, he left in 2013 to create OUR, "Operation Underground Railroad" which boasts 4,000-plus predators arrested and 6,000-plus survivors recovered.
Statistics on human trafficking are hard to compile, but the State Department reports that it has 27.6 million global victims. Many of these are children, and many of them are continuing to be exploited right here in the U.S., not just through physical violence, but also a seemingly endless supply of child pornography. (OUR claims that “Americans are some of the top consumers AND producers of child pornography.”)
Tim Ballard is one of the most inspiring people I have heard about.
Remember his own OUR organization has rescued something like 6000
victims. Of those 6000 Tim and his wife, Katherine, have personally adopted two.
The story has a bigger goal.
It is hoping it will ignite a revolution to stop these hideous crimes against God's Children!
It sickening to realize just how horrible our world has become.
"We The People" need to fight the good fight and stop this at all levels.
