There are plenty of Small Town America that is worth traveling to and some of you don't know they exist.

It might not be on your bucket list but these places absolutely deserve a spot on your calendar for future visits.

I have visited each and every place and I can attest they are charming!

Kernville, California Not far from Lake Isabella is a great place for adventurers to escape. From kayaking and white water rafting, to mountain biking and rock climbing, there are plenty of activities to fulfill any adrenaline-seekers' list. Not to mention, the Downtown has an Old West aesthetic, full of quaint antique shops, boutiques, and restaurants. You have to try the Pizza Barn.

Trinidad, California

With a population of less than 400 people, calling this town small is an understatement. That said... It is a home to some beautiful public beaches and picturesque offshore rocks, and it has a rich Native American historic heritage.

Eureka Springs, Arkansas In the heart of the Ozark Mountains is this charming Victorian Villiage, known for both its Historic District and its natural springs. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, which is home to big cats, is also in Eureka Springs. Plus you definitely need to visit the Cressant Hotel.

Gallup, New Mexico

There is a reason that this town is knownl as the Indian jewelry capital of the world: It's rich in Native American culture and the destination embraces it across the board. Another pro tip? The High Desert Trail System is an amazing way to take in the sights by foot.

You have to visit the hotel of the old Hollywood Stars and Future Presidents "The El Rancho".

Ste. Genevieve, Missouri

Not all American wine is made in California: The French influence town (it was founded by French Canadian colonists) is home to several vineyards, along with its historic cornerstone church that goes by the town's name.

A beautiful place to visit and it's the oldest settlement in Missouri.

Lead, South Dakota

If Mount Rushmore is on your bucket list, skip the bustling Rapid City and stay at this quieter little town instead. It was once a mining town, but has since lost the gold and kept the charm. Visit the Black Hills Mining Museum to gain a deeper appreciation of the town's history. It is in the middle of some of the best views and roads in the country.

Abilene, Kansas

This town's claim to fame is that President Dwight D. Eisenhower grew up here, which is why they have a library and museum dedicated to him. Another can't be missed attraction is Great Plains Theatre, which used to be a church.

Natchitoches, Louisiana

This town is definitely worth a visit since it claims be the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Today, you can wander around the 33-block district or try one of their famous meat pies.

War Eagle, Arkansas

The famous War Eagle Mill was built in 1832 and has been destroyed and rebuilt three times, yet it's still in operation today. During the fall, the town hosts an elaborate craft fair that DIY lovers won't want to miss and in the middle of some fantastic to views and roads Arkansas has to offer.

This USA is a fantastic country full of history, interesting people and beautiful sights.

I have been blessed to see some of these unique places in my lifetime and there are plenty more to explore.

Next time you get a desire to travel give yourself a treat and explore off the beaten path.
