8/24/2020 The Door Has Arrived...

Yesterday was a journey to get my new door. I was excited to pick out a new lock sets and envision the beauty instore for my Craftsman Bungalow & basement home.

I forgot to bring my mask from my car when I left town in the pickup truck.

I was denied entry to the Menard's store.

I was horrified I might have driven 50 miles for zip. They didn't want me to enter even to purchase a mask. I finally got them to understand I was trying to pick up my pre-ordered/paid door.

I was told they "might" allow me to pickup at the pickup door around the back of the store.

I realized I needed a mask in Springfield but the level of of rudeness was just unforgettable.

I finally drove around back to pick up the door. There was a guard shack check point I had to enter where they wanted paperwork. I explained I purchased the door online as a custom order. I was notified it was now in the store for me to pickup. The rudeness continued as I searched my phone for the order number. I was told to drive forward and call the number on the sign. The sign that they were talking about was facing the wrong way so I had to get out of the truck to see it. I noticed the staff was very nervous and starting to walk towards me. I dialed the number and stepped around the truck to open the camper shell's back window & tailgate. The staff approaching decided to turn around. The door was brought out to me. It was in a very shabby shipping encasement. The protection cardboard was ripped partly off the door. Not really my idea of the shape my door should be in & delivered to me. With struggle the door was lifted in the truck by Jim and the one scrony employee.

This was not the experience I expected from Menard's... So I decided to drive across town to Lowe's to buy my door's new lock set.

I was amazed at the difference in attitude Lowe's had with their customers. I apologized for forgetting my mask at home in my car. They said no problem.

I quickly chose my lock set in an isle with nobody even close to me. I never was even 6 ft close to anyone. I checked out in self-service unit with nobody around and existed the store in record time.

I appreciated the difference in treatment and courtesy to me, "the air head that can be forgetful at times but not a prisoner in the state pen."

My rant is over now!
